What SortPins actually does
In plain language: Pinterest hides a lot of useful numbers. SortPins puts them on the pin, saves the pins you care about, and lets you work with that list later.
See hidden stats on every pin
As you scroll Pinterest, SortPins shows saves, likes, comments, and more right on the pin. The heart is likes. The pin icon is saves. You do not have to click through to find the numbers.
Keep the pins that matter
Useful pins go into your library on your computer — automatically as you browse, or when you collect them yourself. A green check means “this one is saved.” Click the check to remove it.
Study them in Pin Analyzer
Open the SortPins icon in your toolbar. That is your dashboard: sort, filter, preview, download, group by board or person, delete what you do not want, and export a spreadsheet when you need one.
Start here — four steps
You already installed the extension. This is all you need to do next.
Go to Pinterest
Open pinterest.com and browse as usual. SortPins turns on by itself. You do not need a special mode.
Look at the overlay
Each pin shows engagement numbers. Use Viral score to spot pins that are spreading now — not only old pins with huge save counts.
Collect (or uncollect) with one click
A green check means the pin is in your library. Click it on the pin to take it out. You can clean up later in Analyzer too.
Open Pin Analyzer
Click the SortPins icon in your browser toolbar. Preview images and videos in place, switch to Boards or People to study one group, download files to your computer, or select a few rows and delete only those.
Already using SortPins? Reload, then refresh.
Skip this if you just installed for the first time. After an update, Chrome sometimes keeps the old version in memory. Reload the extension, refresh Pinterest, and keep browsing — your existing pins stay with you.
- Open a new tab and type chrome://extensions
- Find SortPins and click Reload
- Go back to Pinterest and refresh the page
What you can do
These are the tools you have from day one. If you already used SortPins, this is also what changed in the latest update.
Faster saving & a bigger library
Your pin library lives on your computer, in a large local database — not in Chrome’s tiny built-in storage. You can keep a lot of pins, and they save quickly while you browse. Opening Analyzer and filtering is smoother too. If you already used SortPins, your old pins were copied over automatically.
Viral score — see what’s spreading now
Saves alone do not tell you if a pin is performing well. A pin with 10,000 saves over two years is not the same as a pin with 800 saves in three days. Viral score is 0–100. It looks at how fast a pin is spreading for its age, so a new pin with strong saves can outrank an old one with a big but slow number.
Analyzer is easier
Shorter labels (Pinner, Original, Link, Date), less clutter, and you can scroll the rest of the columns on a smaller screen. Select pins and remove them in one go — same idea as Gmail. Click a pin to preview it large, images and videos in the same viewer. The pin title shows under that preview, and in your CSV if it exists. Press Escape, click outside, or hit the X to close.
Boards & People — see your library in groups
Analyzer has two extra views next to List and Grid. Boards: one card per board (Wallpapers, Cats, …) — click a board to see only those pins. People: one card per pinner — click a person to see only their pins. Export from inside a board or person and the CSV is just that slice. Profile photos load on People cards when a Pinterest tab is open.
Download actually downloads
The download button now saves the image or video to your computer. It does not open a random tab. Preview still has its own download icon. Videos download as files too.
Exports say SortPins
CSV files are named like SortPins-all-2026-09-08.csv and include a SortPins.com line at the bottom. Columns match Analyzer, including Title (when the pin has one), Link, and video URL. Open the file in Excel or Google Sheets.
Less flicker on Pinterest
Stats used to flash on, vanish, then come back. Pinterest was rebuilding the page; we put the overlay back much faster so browsing feels steadier.
Collected ✓ is a real control
A green check means the pin is in Analyzer. Click it on the pin to take it out of your library, without opening Analyzer first. If Auto Collect picked up something you never wanted, drop it in a couple of clicks.
See it, so it clicks
Watching 20 seconds is often easier than reading a feature list. These are the three moments most people use every day.
Stats on the pin while you scroll
Overlay stats match Pinterest more clearly: the heart is likes, the pin icon is saves. Viral score sits next to the other numbers.
Pins save into your library as you browse
Auto Collect can pick up pins in the background. The green check means it is in Analyzer. Click the check to uncollect it from the pin itself.
Pin Analyzer: preview, download, clean up
Click the SortPins toolbar icon. Preview in place — no new tab. The pin title sits under the preview. Download from that same view. Switch to Boards or People to study one group. Select several rows and delete only those.

Boards and People, in plain language
If you collect pins from several boards or accounts, you do not have to study them as one mixed list. Group first, then open only the slice you want.
- 1.Boards — one card per board, with a cover and pin count. Click Wallpapers and you only see those pins. Cats stays out of that view.
- 2.People — the same idea, grouped by the pinner. Click a person to open their pins. Keep a Pinterest tab open the first time so profile photos can load.
- 3.Inside a board or person, list and grid still work. Search, videos, and dates still apply. Export from there and the CSV is only that board or person.

Common questions
What did I just install?+
SortPins is a Chrome (and Firefox) extension for Pinterest. It shows hidden engagement numbers on pins, saves interesting pins into a local library on your computer, and gives you Pin Analyzer to review, download, and export that library.
Do I need to log in to Pinterest through SortPins?+
No. Stay logged into Pinterest the way you already do. SortPins reads what is on the page in your browser. It does not need your Pinterest password.
Where are my saved pins stored?+
On your computer, in a local library. SortPins does not need your Pinterest password, and your collection is not uploaded to our servers. If you used SortPins before this version, your old pins were copied into the new library automatically.
I updated and I do not see the new features.+
Reload the extension, then refresh Pinterest. In Chrome: open chrome://extensions, find SortPins, click Reload. Go back to Pinterest and refresh the tab. Give it a few seconds after the page loads.
What are Boards and People in Analyzer?+
Two extra views next to List and Grid. Boards groups your library by board — click one card to see only those pins. People groups by the pinner. Search, videos, and dates still apply inside that slice. Export from there and the CSV is only that board or person. Keep a Pinterest tab open the first time so profile photos can load on People cards.
What is Viral score?+
A 0–100 number that looks at saves compared with how old the pin is. A newer pin with strong save speed ranks higher than an old pin with a large but slow total. You will see it on the Pinterest overlay and as a compact ring in Analyzer.
How do I download a pin?+
On Pinterest, use the download icon on the pin. In Analyzer, click the pin to preview it, then use the download icon next to close. The file saves to your computer — it should not just open another tab.
Does this work on my phone?+
SortPins is a desktop browser extension. Phone browsers do not run it the same way. Use SortPins on a computer for research. For a one-off download on any device, try our free Pinterest Downloader on this website.
